Wicked Plants

Wicked Plants: The Exhibit opened at Centennial Library on January 19 and runs through May 8. Staff has received positive feedback from patrons of all ages. Kim Patrick, exhibits and programs coordinator, has reached out to area schools offering field trips and education guides. MISD will not do any field trips this school year, but has expressed interest in the education guide. Staff hopes private schools and homeschool groups will book field trips.

Two exhibit-related programs are on the schedule this month. Both are crafts with an educational component that Kim will demonstrate on Facebook Live before offering take-home kits for families to pick up.

Kim and Chris also have launched a “Did You Know” weekly Facebook Live video to promote the exhibit.

Exhibit stats:

Centennial foot traffic (Jan. 19-30): 3,250

Program views on Facebook Live: 95

In-Person Programmig

In-person programming resumed at the libraries this month. Extra procedures are in place to ensure patron and staff safety. Only 10 patrons may attend each in-person program and MCPL will continue to offer programs virtually through Zoom and Facebook Live.
